Rays To Open '09 At Fenway; Phils, Nationals Coming To Trop

ST. PETERSBURG - The Rays will open their 2009 season against the team they're currently battling for the division title, the Boston Red Sox.
The Major League Baseball schedule released Wednesday has the Rays traveling to Fenway Park to open their season April 6. Tampa Bay's home opener will come a week later against the New York Yankees.
The Yankees also will be the opposition for the final regular-season series, Oct. 2-4 at Tropicana Field, as the Rays wrap up 2009 by playing 12 of 15 games at home.
The road schedule will be highlighted by the Rays' inaugural visits to the two new stadiums set to open in New York next season. The Rays will make their first trip to the new Yankee Stadium on May 6-7 and will head to the Mets' Citi Field on June 19-21.
Interleague play also will take the Rays on the road against the Marlins (May 22-24) and the Rockies (June 16-18), while the Nationals (June 12-14), Phillies (June 23-25) and Marlins (June 26-28) will visit the Trop.
