THE DIFFERENCE: Alonso (2-1) forced the issue on defense, and Blake didn't help itself with 19 penalties. The Yellow Jackets (0-3) were solid on defense all night, but seven fumbles (three lost) and four interceptions doomed Blake. The Ravens did enough when presented with good field position off turnovers to score.
GAME NOTES: All 10 of Blake's points came in the final three minutes of the game after it trailed 26-0. ... Blake put 6-foot-6 sophomore Michael McFarland in at quarterback for most of the second half. He missed his first eight passes and threw two interceptions before completing his first pass for a touchdown with 18 seconds left in the game. ... Alonso quarterback C.J. Bennett had a bad night on the stat sheet (10 of 29) but he came through when it mattered, with three touchdown passes of 10 yards and less. ... Blake quarterbacks found themselves on their backs often, as Alonso netted eight sacks. ... Alonso running back Cody Verrelli put the game away with a 48-yard run to the Blake 4-yard line in the fourth quarter.
