TAMPA - University of South Florida sophomore NT Sampson Genus, who has started the Bulls' first three games, will not play Saturday at Florida International because of an ankle injury.

Genus has been limited in practice all week.

"His foot's bothering him a little bit," USF coach Jim Leavitt said. "He didn't play much last game against Kansas, he played about 12 snaps."

Sophomore Terrell McClain will start for Genus at nose tackle, DL coach Kevin Patrick said. Junior Aaron Harris, who has been limited in practice this week with an ankle injury, is expected to start at defensive tackle.

Backup CB Tyson Butler (ankle) will miss his second consecutive game.

RBs Ben Williams (ankle) and Mike Ford (ankle), who have combined for only two carries for 2 yards in the last two games, are both probable.

"Ford did OK today," Leavitt said. "Ben was pretty good."

Freshman K Maikon Bonani, who had the game-winning 43-yard field goal last week, had an ice pack on his kicking leg during part of Thursday's practice, but Leavitt said he was fine.

"Bonani kicked pretty good today," Leavitt said. "I rested him a little bit; didn't want to wear him out."
