Westbound I-4 At Plant City Reopens After Crash

PLANT CITY - Westbound traffic on Interstate 4 near Park Road was blocked for a few minutes this afternoon after a vehicle crash and fire.

Authorities reopened the interstate about 2:15 p.m. after pushing the damaged car off the road. The car's driver was injured and taken to the hospital.

Keith Santi, 54, of Tampa, said the man who was injured hit Santi's Chevy Malibu, lost control and slammed into a barrier wall. The car burst into flames, Santi said.

The driver of the burning car, whose name was not available, got out and sat down next to the barrier wall to await an ambulance.
