BRADENTON CHR. ... 21 B. McLAUGHLIN ... 0

THE DIFFERENCE: The offense for Bishop McLaughlin (0-3) struggled again, gaining only 58 yards on the ground and 36 yards passing.

GAME NOTES: Heading into the game, Hurricanes coach Marty Williams mentioned that the offense needed to execute better. "We've practiced all week to help give our QB some extra space and move him around a bit more," Williams said. But Bradenton Christian (2-1) contained the Hurricanes running game to earn its second consecutive shutout victory. The Panthers' defense blitzed repeatedly, and their pursuit caught the Hurricanes runners for losses eight times. Using a balanced attack of 23 running plays and 21 passing plays, the Panthers scored a TD in each of the first three quarters. Panther QB Eric Fridenberg passed for 191 yards and had completions to six different receivers. T.J. Hanlon, Beau McDonald and Giovanni Perone each had at least 10 tackles. Midway through the fourth quarter, senior Ryan Beeble brought the crowd to its feet with a 38-yard kickoff return to the Panthers' 47, but the offense could not capitalize.

STAT OF THE GAME: The Hurricanes averaged 1.9 yards per carry (30 attempts for 58 yards).

QUOTE OF THE GAME: "We struggled on offense again, which is frustrating. We were out of sync for most of the game. We're going to review and dissect the game to see how we can improve." - Williams
