THE DIFFERENCE: The Plant City (2-1) defense forced seven Riverview turnovers and shut out the Sharks in the second half to give first-year coach Jason Strunk his second victory.
GAME NOTES: The first half was an error-filled two quarters with the teams combining for seven turnovers and seven penalties. Plant City senior defensive back Brian Goodman returned the opening kickoff of the game 80 yards to give the Raiders the lead. Riverview answered late in the first quarter when Sharks running back Ronnie Johnson scored on a 2-yard run following a fumble by the Raiders on their own 5-yard line. Riverview took a 9-6 lead into halftime on a 41-yard field goal by Alex O'Regan as time expired.
STAT OF THE GAME: Junior defensive back Raheem Billington intercepted Riverview twice in the second half, including the final one with a minute remaining to seal the game for the Raiders. Denzel Drone forced two fumbles and Goodman added an interception and forced a fumble to lead the Raider defense.
