Motorcyclist Killed After Collision With SUV

A 21-year-old motorcyclist died and the driver of a sports utility vehicle was injured seriously when the vehicles collided at about 1 p.m. today in Pasco County.

The collision occurred at Overpass and Boyette roads. Quinton Shankle of Zephyrhills died at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Shankle was heading north on Boyette and passing a car making a right turn on Overpass. His 1993 Honda motorcycle was struck by a Toyota sports utility vehicle driven by Vanessa Vincent of Wesley Chapel, the highway patrol said.

Vincent was heading west on Overpass and continued into the intersection and struck the motorcycle, the accident report said.

Vincent, 39, was seriously injured and a passenger Jaden Blake, 8, also from Wesley Chapel, received minor injuries, the highway patrol reported. Vincent was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

Shankle was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
