Two separate hit-and-run accidents left three people injured Saturday night in Manatee County.
Two of those hurt were on a motorcycle and the other person was on a bicycle.
The first accident happened just before 8 p.m. when a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Rick Wojtoanowski, 41, of Bradenton, was heading east on 26th Avenue E. approaching the 3rd Street E. intersection, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 1996 Ford was heading west on 26th Avenue and turned into the motorcycle's path, hitting the left side of the motorcycle, the highway patrol said. The driver of the car did not stop.
Wojtoanowski and a woman passenger the highway patrol did not identify were thrown from the motorcycle. His injuries were listed as serious and the passenger's injuries were listed as critical in the accident report.
Wojtoanowski and the other rider were not wearing helmets, the accident report said. Both were taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
The second accident happened about 11:30 p.m. when a car struck a bicycle on State Road 45, critically injuring Juan Mendoza, 33 of Bradenton, the highway patrol said.
Mendoza was riding north in the right lane of S.R. 45 when he was hit from behind by what a witness described as a full-size, extended cab pickup truck that was dark blue or black.
Mendoza was thrown into the parking lot of a car rental company. The truck left and there were no skid marks, the accident report said. The truck had damage to its right front, the report said.
He also was taken to Bayfront.
