TAMPA - A water main break forced the city to close a section of North 22nd Street between East Chelsea and East Emma streets Monday.
The 30-inch water main was expected to repaired later today but the road resurfacing won't be completed until Wednesday.
Until then, northbound traffic will be diverted east to Chelsea Street, north on 26th Avenue and west on Emma back to 22nd Street. Southbound traffic is being diverted east at Emma, south on 26th Avenue and west on Chelsea back to 22nd Street.
The city is asking drivers to seek alternate routes until restoration is completed.
Barricades and signs are in the area to assist with traffic flow.
