TALLAHASSEE - Starting QB Christian Ponder and backup D'Vontrey Richardson combined for five interceptions and three points in Florida State's 12-3 loss to Wake Forest on Saturday night.
At Monday's news conference, FSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher was asked who would be taking the first snap on Saturday against Colorado.
"Ponder," Fisher said.
Ponder was six of 18 for 52 yards and three interceptions.
Richardson's last two passes were intercepted and he finished six of 18 for 66 yards.
Fisher said he really never considered playing last year's starter, senior Drew Weatherford of Land O' Lakes
"Not the way it was going," Fisher said. "Not out of disrespect for Drew in any way, I still felt we could make one more play and I thought D'Vontrey had a chance to do it."
