A head-on collision on U.S. 19 in Hernando County left three people injured, including a woman from Tampa, just before 1 p.m. today.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Kimberly Fabiano, 44, of Tampa, was driving south on U.S. 19 near Suzanne Drive when she lost control and headed across the median into the northbound lanes at 12:50 p.m.
Her 1990 Mercury struck a Dodge sport utility vehicle heading north driven by Mary Gothe, 66, of Spring Hill. The vehicles collided head-on, the accident report said.
Mary Gothe was seriously injured and passenger Siegfried Gothe, 61, was critically injured, the highway patrol said. Both were wearing seatbelts.
Fabiano also received critical injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt, the accident report said. She was charged with careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.
All three accident victims were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
