St. Pete Paraplegic In Need Of Medical Treatment Is Missing

ST. PETERSBURG - A 49-year-old paraplegic who uses a wheelchair is missing, St. Petersburg police said.
John D. Westerfield, of 1000 Burlington Ave. N., No. 203, has been missing since Sept. 8, but the family did not report it until Sept. 16, St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said.
In addition to being a paraplegic, Westerfield suffers from life-threatening medical issues and needs medical treatment, Kajtsa said.
Westerfield is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and is clean shaven. He uses a motorized wheelchair.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the police department's personal violence unit at (727) 892-5139 or the communication center at (727) 893-7780.
