BALTIMORE - Tickets for the Tampa Bay Rays' first two home playoff games officially sold out Tuesday night, about 12 hours before they were to go on sale to the general public.

Fans who preregistered on the team's Web site snapped up the remaining tickets for the first two Division Series games by about 10 p.m., the Rays said. Public sales had been slated to begin at 9 a.m. today.

The team has held back a "very limited" number of tickets for those putting down deposits on 2009 season tickets, but those aren't expected to last long, either.

The Rays are selling tickets only for two games of the Division Series. If they win the division, clinching home-field advantage for the first round, tickets for a potential third ALDS game at Tropicana Field would go on sale.
