Tasty Morsels On TV This Week
"Dinner: Impossible," 10 p.m. tonight, Food Network
Chef Michael Symon's task: to create a colorful eight-course tasting menu for 150 people at the Crayola factory in Easton, Pa. If he makes them eat a box of crayons like half the toddlers in America tend to do, it would probably qualify as culinary justice.
"Kitchen Nightmares," 8 p.m. Thursday, Fox
Chef Gordon Ramsay fixates his withering criticism on the owner of an Italian restaurant in Great Neck, N.Y., focusing on kitchen cleanliness and the flavor of the food. Things do not go well, and Ramsay ends up in cement galoshes in the bottom of the East River. OK, that last part is a fib. But one can hope.
"Best American Restaurants," 8 p.m. Friday, Food Network
The editors of Bon Appetit select the finest restaurants across this fruited plain. If they omit the taco bus on Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa in the first five minutes of the show, we're totally turning the channel.
"Designed to Sell," 8 p.m. Monday HGTV
Ever toured a home that had too much stuff in the kitchen and dining room? Always gives us claustrophobia and the sense that a cat lady lurks nearby. This show focuses on retooling a home to make it more attractive to buyers by de-cluttering the dining appointments inside.
