NEW PORT RICHEY - A 59-year-old man whose van ran out of gas was robbed at knifepoint by two men who offered to give him a ride to a gas station, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reported.
The victim was at Seven Springs Boulevard and Churchill Parkway in New Port Richey when the van ran out of gas, the report said. As he walked north on Seven Springs Boulevard in the direction of a Chevron station, a white four-door sedan stopped in front of him and the two men inside offered him a ride.
The victim, sitting in the back seat, became alarmed when the car passed the Chevron without stopping and he asked, "Where are you going?" the report said.
One of the men pulled out a knife and demanded money, the report said. The victim handed over $85 and the two robbers dropped him off on Mitchell Boulevard, the report said. The victim walked to a Domino's Pizza and called 911.
