TBO.com - Clearwater police are searching for two men they say robbed the SunTrust bank at 2150 Cleveland St. on Wednesday.
According to police, the men entered the bank about 12:25 p.m. One sat in the lobby while the other, who was carrying what looked like a large day planner, asked to see the manager. When the manager took the second man into his office, the suspect showed a handgun and asked for money. The manager got an unknown amount of cash from a teller, and the men left.
The men fled in a gray or silver four-door vehicle thought to be of a foreign make, possibly a Toyota or Mitsubishi. The paint on the hood was faded, and there was a small spoiler on the rear.
Both men are described as Hispanic, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, 20 to 27 years old and wearing caps.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Clearwater Police Department Tip Line at (727) 562-4422.
