WESLEY CHAPEL - Cobb Theatres unveiled its new 16-screen multiplex and restaurant Thursday before an invitation-only crowd that included Pasco County commissioners and officials from the companies that helped make the project a reality.
The Grove 16 and CineBistro, as the new theater is called, will open to the public today. The theater sits at the north end of The Grove shopping center, near Oakley Boulevard and Old Pasco Road.
"It seems like just yesterday that I was standing in about this same spot and it was a field," Jeremy Wellman, Cobb's chief operating officer, told the crowd gathered in the theater's lobby.
Construction on the multiplex took 20 months.
