TAMPA - University of South Florida All-American DE George Selvie, who only participated in individual drills Thursday, is doubtful for Saturday's game at N.C. State.

Selvie, who has started all 30 games of his career, injured his right ankle in the third quarter of last week's win at Florida International. He hasn't participated in team practice drills this week.

Also, NT Terrell McClain (ankle), who has two starts, likely won't play, and Justin Teachey, who handles the kickoffs, is doubtful with a thigh injury. Junior Delbert Alvarado will handle the kickoffs for Teachey. NT Sampson Genus (ankle) also is questionable.

"We still won't know until game time," said USF coach Jim Leavitt of the injured players.

Senior SS Carlton Williams (hip) practiced Thursday and is expected to play.

MOMPREMIER NAMED CAPTAIN: Senior LB Brouce Mompremier, who was injured last week at FIU and is out at least two weeks and possibly the season with a neck injury, was named one of four senior captains.

Mompremier will make the trip, but will not play. The other captains: LB Tyrone McKenzie, WR Taurus Johnson and C Jake Griffin.

"Brouce is a tremendous leader," Leavitt said. "I just felt like it having him as a captain. He's meant a lot to me and this team."
