THE DIFFERENCE: Adrian Golden's five rushing touchdowns led Gulf (4-0) to an easy victory over Wiregrass Ranch (0-4).

GAME NOTES: Heading into the game, Wiregrass Ranch coach Ricky Thomas promised to pass the ball more and the Bulls attempted 25 passes. The Buccaneer defense was prepared and caused 10 incompletions and two interceptions.... On offense, the Buccaneers stuck to their outstanding ground game, led by Golden's 252 yards on 17 carries. Junior Will Burbridge added 43 yards and a rushing TD.... Both sides were penalized often, with Gulf caught eight times for 90 yards and Wiregrass Ranch guilty of nine infractions for 65 yards. "We pride ourselves on running the ball," said Buccaneers coach Jay Fulmer. ... The Bulls only score came in the second quarter. Starting on their own 23 yard-line, the drive was keyed by a 36-yard pass from James Tringali to Blake Burch, and a 39-yard run by Josh Johnson. Johnson completed the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run.

STAT OF THE GAME: The Buccaneers attempted 37 running plays and had only 12 pass attempts.
