Tejano Singer Navaira, Wife, Leave Hospital After Crash

Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira and his wife, Maria, have been discharged from a San Antonio, Texas, hospital after a traffic accident earlier this week.

A hospital spokeswoman says the couple were discharged late Thursday, a day after their car collided with a truck.

The 46-year-old singer has been undergoing rehabilitation since a tour bus wreck in suburban Houston in March.

Navaira's agent says the couple were on the way back from rehab at the time of the latest wreck. Navaira had been doing his rehab sessions in Houston until Hurricane Ike caused the singer and his wife to return home to San Antonio.

Law Firm Hires Real Erin Brockovich As Consultant

The legal crusader portrayed by Julia Roberts in the Oscar-winning film "Erin Brockovich" is now working for a Manhattan personal injury law firm that specializes in asbestos cases.

The real Erin Brockovich signed a consulting contract with Weitz & Luxenberg and will be involved in soliciting cases and investigating claims. Brockovich told the New York Post: "I'm hands-on and they're hands-on so it will be a team effort."

Brockovich, 48, has filmed two TV commercials for the law firm seeking individuals who may have contracted lung cancer from exposure to asbestos, the Daily News reported. Brockovich also consults with a West Coast law firm, Girardi & Keese.

Roberts won an Oscar for her portrayal of the environmental activist in the 2000 movie.
