A St. Petersburg man escaped with only minor injuries this morning after his car overturned and rolled down an embankment on Interstate 175 in St. Petersburg.
Jason Patrick Donahue, 29, was driving west on I-175 near 16th Street South at 2:10 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 2006 Dodge Charger drove off the road, striking a speed limit sign and two light poles, the release said. The vehicle then overturned and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest near Fifth Avenue South.
A passenger in the car, Brianna D. Velivis, 29, of Pinellas Park, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Donahue was arrested on a DUI charge and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
