Police Seek Assailant Who Beat Old Man With Table Leg

Police are searching for the person they say beat an elderly Ocala man with a table leg.

A news release says 77-year-old Thomas Hickman was looking through a trash bin on Sunday when another man took a broken table leg and beat Hickman with it. The man dragged Hickman behind the dumpster then took off in Hickman's car.

The vehicle was later found abandoned.

Hickman was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
