TAMPA - After 12 years at WTSP, Channel 10, anchor Jennifer Howe was let go Sunday.
Station officials declined Tuesday to say why her contract was terminated.
"We do not discuss personnel changes," said station spokesman Pete Nikiel.
Howe could not be reached for comment. WTSP General Manager Sam Rosenwasser also was not available for comment.
Howe, 42, joined WTSP as a morning anchor. The St. Petersburg native moved to weekends in 1997.
She was married to former WTSP anchor Pat Minarcin, who sued the station for age discrimination after he was fired in 1998. Her marriage to Minarcin ended in 2006. They have a 7-year-old daughter.
Nikiel said no decision has been made on Howe's replacement.
In recent weeks, WTSP has let go weather forecaster Anna Allen and traffic reporter Meredyth Censullo (also without explanation). The station has hired Chicago meteorologist Tammie Souza, who comes onboard Oct. 27.
Reporter Walt Belcher can be reached at (813 259-7654 or wbelcher@tampatrib.com.
