More than 70 roosters were seized from two Dover homes Wednesday morning along with more than 30 pieces of equipment used in cockfighting, Hillsborough County Animal Services investigators say.
Ramon Bueno, 48, is the owner of both properties, according to criminal arrest affidavits. Bueno was arrested and charged today with 77 counts of baiting, breeding or owning animals to fight, 33 counts of owning animal fighting equipment and one count of owning and maintaining an animal fighting ring.
Animal services investigators went to Bueno's home at 14551 Bragg St., Dover, about 11 a.m. Wednesday and found 34 roosters on the property, affidavits state. Bueno gave permission to search the property, investigators say.
Bueno told investigators he also owns property at 14544 Bragg St., and 43 roosters were found there.
He is being held on $440,000 bail at Orient Road Jail.
