ORLANDO - Two experts have been appointed to determine whether ex-astronaut Lisa Nowak was insane when she was arrested after allegedly driving 1,000 miles to confront a romantic rival for the affections of another astronaut.
Wade Myers and Gregory Prichard must turn in by July written evaluations on Nowak's mental health at the time she was arrested two years ago.
Circuit Judge Marc Lubet in Orlando also ruled Wednesday that under the terms of her pretrial release Nowak could travel to any state in the union with the exception of Alaska, California and Pennsylvania.
Nowak was charged with attempted kidnapping, burglary and battery with assault. She is accused of confronting the girlfriend of another former astronaut, Bill Oefelein.
