Not all baseball cities are created equal, especially when it comes to cycling.
Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon travels all summer long to American League cities, and offered his take on where he loves and dreads going for a ride.
BOSTON (Red Sox)
Great rides along the Charles River, and on hills near Boston College.
DETROIT (Tigers)
Great park along Hines Parkway in Dearborn.
MINNEAPOLIS (Twins)
They have a path around the entire city. "It's tremendous."
CHICAGO (White Sox)
Take a ride along Lake Michigan. "It's awesome."
BALTIMORE (Orioles)
"No good."
KANSAS CITY, MO. (Royals)
Tough to find a good place for a long ride.
ARLINGTON, TEXAS (Rangers)
"There are certain cities that are not biker-friendly."
NEW YORK (Yankees)
Haven't tried riding there yet. "New York's too crazy."
ANAHEIM, CALIF. (Angels)
It's great, especially rides up and down the Pacific beaches.
SAN FRANCISCO (Oakland A's)
San Francisco is a tough, rewarding ride, especially down Market Street, through the Embarcadero District to Fisherman's Wharf and ends at the Golden Gate Bridge.
