STUART - Budget cuts have hit the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, too.

The state Department of Education said Tuesday it is cutting all FCAT summer retakes and part of the science FCAT. Sample test materials also will be cut, and schools won't get printed score reports.

Education Commissioner Eric Smith says "all aspects of education are facing budget reductions."

In November, the state discontinued the FCAT Parent Network that let parents see their children's scores on the Internet, cut 10th-grade FCAT retakes and took sticker seals off some test documents. Last April, the multiple-choice part of the writing test was dropped.

Smith says no changes were made to the 2010 FCAT reading and math tests.
