Repeal ridiculous sales tax exemptions? Never.

Just cut the budget and reduce services. Lay off workers so they will not be able to pay their property taxes. Add more seniors to the waiting list for Meals on Wheels - they really don't need to eat much. Put 40 kids in a classroom so they can really get to know each other.

But tax Super Bowl tickets/skyboxes? Never.

Come on legislators, we all know that we cannot possibly run the state of Florida on property taxes, sales taxes and fees for everything except possibly taking a deep breath. People want and need a safe environment, a good education for their children, health care, services available for those in need and a state that welcomes new business and retirees.

Give real consideration to the cigarette tax, gambling tax and, dare I say it, a wage tax. You have a chance to make history by working together to solve the budget crisis. We know you can do it - if you really want to.
