TAMPA - A 40-year-old woman was seriously injured after her sport utility vehicle overturned on the U.S. 92 ramp to Interstate 4, tossing her over a concrete railing onto the shoulder of the interstate.
Gigi Laneda Bratcher of Tampa was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition after the 12:43 a.m. wreck, the Florida Highway Patrol said this morning.
Bratcher was westbound on U.S. 92 in a 1995 Isuzu and had just crossed the overpass across Interstate 4 when for an unknown reason she lost control, the patrol said.
The Isuzu crossed over a grass median and two lanes of traffic and collided with a concrete barrier, troopers said. Bratcher was ejected from the vehicle and tossed over the barrier wall onto the paved shoulder of the interstate, troopers said. She was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
