Son Charged With Stealing From 72-Year-Old Dad

SPRING HILL - A Spring Hill man was arrested Thursday on charges he stole $18,189 from his 72-year-old father.
The victim contacted authorities on March 25 to report his son and main caregiver, Aaron Panos, had drained his bank account to a negative balance, a report states.
The victim, who has an illness that impairs his decision making, told an investigator that Panos used the money to purchase illegal drugs. Panos defended his actions, saying the ATM withdrawals were for food, according to a report.
Panos, 30, was charged with exploitation of the elderly and criminal use of identification information.
