Get out the hoses. Starting today, Tampa residents without reclaimed water systems must hand-water instead.

Strict new water restrictions are kicking in today across the Tampa Bay area.
For most city of Tampa customers, that means no lawn sprinklers, only watering by hand.
Almost everyone else in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties will have fewer hours to water their lawns and fewer days to water shrubbery. And no more car washing, except at commercial establishments. Pressure washing is also out, except by commercial operators. The restrictions last until June 30.
On the bright side, your water bill might start falling.
Unfortunately, your lawn may be browner and your car dirtier as a result.
Dave Moore, Southwest Florida Water Management District director, said the measures should meet the goal of cutting water use by 20 percent if everyone complies.
