Bail for a suspected drug trafficker from Winter Haven was set at $1 million Thursday night. The arrest of Shawn Contrell Williams, 40, culminated a two-month investigation, authorities said.

Williams was arrested after detectives stopped his vehicle and found packaged crack cocaine ready for sale, Polk County sheriff's deputies said. A search of his home at 1791 Seventh St. N.E., in the Florence Villa neighborhood, uncovered about 100 individually packaged bags of crack cocaine, deputies said.

The home is across the street from a church and next to Lake Maude Nature Park.

At the time of the arrest, Williams was awaiting trail on felony charges that stemmed from a vehicle pursuit with the Winter Haven Police Department, deputies said.

He is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a church, maintaining a vehicle and a dwelling for drug trafficking, possession of ammunition and a stun gun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said Williams has an arrest record that includes 25 previous charges on narcotics related offenses.
