TAMPA - Nortrax, a chain of John Deere equipment dealers, plans to open a 60-person back-office operation near Seffner.
The company is planning to open a 24,000-square-foot shared services center in the new Four Highland Oaks office project near Interstate 75 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to a news release from the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.
The company expects to employ 60 people in accounting, finance, credit, human resources, marketing, inventory management and other support fields, the news release states. It's unknown when Nortrax will begin hiring or if all 60 positions will be filled locally.
Government and community organizations worked to recruit Nortrax here, including the chamber's Committee of One Hundred, Hillsborough County, Enterprise Florida and the Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development.
The center will support 40 Nortrax locations in the United States as well as some in Canada. The company is a large dealership group that sells John Deere mining, construction and forestry equipment.
