BROOKSVILLE - Two deputies unsuccessfully searched a Ridge Manor home on Wednesday for a man who had fled from the cops. But they didn't walk away empty-handed.
A search of 34018 Woodland Circle shortly before midnight turned up a mini marijuana garden in the bedroom closet belonging to resident Robert Smith, according to a report.
Smith was confronted with their findings and signed a waiver to search his house so that deputies could officially confiscate the three plants, a report states. Deputies say they also seized a plastic bag holding marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm in the bedroom.
Smith, 28, was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon.
