FROSTPROOF - William Ruester, 81, of Avon Park, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night on U.S. 27/98.
Ruester made a left turn in front of a Chevy Cobalt and the vehicles collided, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The victim's 81-year-old neighbor, Constance Peiffer, was in the vehicle with him at the time of the accident.
Vanessa Davidson, 21, of Sebring, was the driver of the Cobalt. Traveling with her was her 6-month-old child, Kaylen. They were all taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, the FHP said.
Hospital representatives said they could not give an update on the victims' statuses Thursday afternoon because they had not been given authorization from family members.
