Emergency workers flew a 69-year-old man to Tampa General Hospital after they pulled him out from under a tree limb that fell on him. Authorities say his injuries could be considered life threatening.
The incident occurred about 1 p.m. in eastern Hillsborough County.
A sheriff's spokeswoman said the call for help came from 3823 Powerline Road, near the intersection of Thompson Road near Fish Hawk Trails Drive.
The man's wife was with him, but called for help after she tried in vain to move the tree limb.
The first paramedics at the scene found the unidentified man trapped under the limb. They said the man had climbed a ladder to remove the limb, but didn't like how it was going to fall. After he climbed down to move the ladder, the limb fell on him.
