HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Police have identified a skeleton found in a state park in Broward County as an elderly man who went missing almost a year ago.
The 88-year-old Edward Corey Junior was last seen Aug. 17. He apparently was going to attend a family gathering at John U. Lloyd State Park in Dania but never showed up. Police say his family reported him missing three days later when they couldn't find him. They told police he may have been suffering from dementia and wandered off.
His body was found Wednesday in a wooded area. Police say there were no signs of foul play. Dental records were used to identify the remains.
