TAMPA - When Jeff Lacy said he was willing to fight Roy Jones Jr. next and that Jones would be at Friday night's card at the USF Sun Dome, he wasn't joking.

As the second bout on the undercard entered the third round, Jones walked into the ring area and took a seat 10 feet from the ring.

"It's a great plan if Lacy wants it," Jones said of a potential matchup. "I'm the kind of guy, it ain't hard to fight me. As long as he wants to do it, at this point in his career, I don't have anything else on my horizon, so why not?"

When asked how much a possible bout between him and Lacy depended on how Lacy looked in Friday's fight against Otis Griffin, Jones was quick to reply:

"None of it."

FAMILIAR RING: As Said El Harrak made his way into the ring, he was followed closely by trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

If that name sounds familiar to Bay area fight fans, it should. Muhammad also trains IBF and IBO light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson - the same Dawson who earned a convincing unanimous-decision victory against Tampa's Antonio Tarver in November in Las Vegas, taking those belts from him.

Dawson and Tarver have a rematch scheduled for May 9 in Vegas. It will air live on HBO.

HOMETOWN LOVE: Between each fight, ring announcer Bob Alexander encouraged fight fans to tune in to tonight's HBO match between St. Petersburg's Winky Wright and Paul Williams.

The card will air live beginning at 10.

MOTH TO A FLAME: Friday's card attracted more than just the casual boxing fan to the Sun Dome. In addition to Jones there was Nate Campbell, Andre Berto, Ahsandi Gibbs, Nick Iannuzzi, Chevelle Hallback, David Santos, Edner Cherry, Carlos Rivera, Jenna Shiver and Hector Camacho.

Each boxer was announced to the crowd and, following the Roberto Failey-Adam Jaco bout, each was brought into the ring. Jones got the loudest round of applause.
