TAMPA - A Starbucks coffee shop at Centro Ybor in Tampa and one at Westfield Brandon are targeted for closing, according to a new posting of store closings on the Seattle-based company's Web site.
Starbucks announced in July that it would close 600 company-operated stores in the United States. It released the locations of many of those stores in July, including three in Tampa, two in Clearwater and one in St. Petersburg. In January, the company announced it would close an additional 300 stores worldwide, including 200 in the United States.
This month, the company released the locations of the additional stores destined to close, including the Centro Ybor and Westfield Brandon stores. A company spokeswoman said she could not give specifics on the timing of each of the closures.
A property manager for Centro Ybor said Friday that he was unaware of the pending closure. A list of Starbucks locations selected for closing can be found at http://news.starbucks.com/ about+starbucks/starbucks+coffee+us.
