Most of those who show up for Bayshore Baptist Church's Easter sunrise service at the Davis Islands Garden Club aren't regular church members, but many of the same faces show up year after year.
At Hyde Park United Methodist Church, people bring flowers to fill out a floral cross - a custom that dates back to 1945.
The traditions vary from church to church, but a single purpose joined those who rose early Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
From Pasco County to Treasure Island, where the faithful gathered on the sand, people across the Tampa Bay area marked the most sacred day in the Christian calendar on Sunday.
Then it was on to those other traditions: jelly beans, Easter eggs and family gatherings.
