Young protectors
My class and I are writing to ask you to strongly support manatee protection.
We believe it would really help if each marina in Florida had a "Help Save the Manatee" poster or sign with boating safety tips attached so we can make all people on our waterways aware of things we as a community can do to help protect and save West Indian Manatees.
We strongly believe that if there were a poster or sign in each marina, it will help remind boaters how wonderful, gentle and special each manatee is. Manatees don't deserve to be harmed or killed because of boater negligence! They deserve to live long and healthy lives.
We have gone to so many places to learn about the manatee this year. We have learned how they eat, how we can help protect them when we are on Florida waterways and, most of all, what sweet and gentle creatures they are.
Please help me and my classmates by supporting our cause to help save the West Indian Manatee or contacting our school about our "Children Save the Manatee Project." You can help us fight even harder to protect these manatees.
