TAMPA - Columbus Drive at 34th Street has reopened after a fire nearby at an insulation warehouse, fire officials said.
The blaze at U.S. GreenFiber insulation is under investigation.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to an automatic fire alarm at 3701 E. Columbus Drive about 6:14 this morning. Firefighters noticed a warehouse full of smoke and soon discovered two large pallets of recycled newspaper bales on fire at the back of the building, Capt. Mark Bogush said.
The building's sprinkler system kept the fire from spreading.
Bogush said no injuries were reported, and the damage from the fire was minimal.
