A crash in Clearwater late this afternoon has claimed the life of a 3-month-old.
Alden Perez was killed when he was ejected from his car seat when his mother's car was involved in an accident shortly before 6 p.m. on Keene Road between Drew and Cleveland streets.
Authorities said Priscilla Baltazar, the child's mother, was heading north on Keene Road and was stopped for a red light near the intersection with Drew Street.
A Mazda SUV driven by Edgar Rivera, 30, of Dunedin was traveling south on Keene and attempted to turn into a small passageway to get to N. Venus Avenue.
Authorities said Rivera stuck Baltazar.
Perez was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died.
Baltazar, 19, of Clearwater, and her 3-year-old son Isaac Perez, were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
Rivera declined medical treatment at the scene.
Clearwater police are still investigating the accident and said charges are pending.
Keene Road was closed for three hours, reopening at 8:50 p.m.
