'American Idol' tour heads to Tampa on July 28

TAMPA - The next "American Idols Live! Tour" will play Tampa on July 28 at the St. Pete Times Forum, according to the Fox network.

This eighth season's top 10 contestants Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre will launch the 50-city tour in Portland, Ore., on July 5.

Tickets will go on sale on May 9.

Simon Fuller, creator and executive producer of "American Idol," said in a news release, " 'American Idol' gives undiscovered talent the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform live every week on the show, and now the tour will give America the unique chance to see these newly discovered stars performing in their own hometown."
