Lakeland death being investigated as homicide

A body found near the Amtrak train station in Lakeland on Wednesday appears to be the victim of homicide, according to the Lakeland Police Department.
The body was found at 600 E. Main St. about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. Police say they do not know the identity of the victim and are not releasing information such as an apparent cause of death or even the gender.
