Conserve water, raise rates

City officials are contemplating an increase in domestic and wastewater charges due to the successful conservation of water usage by city residents and the stagnant growth rate.

Doesn't this scenario sound ever so familiar?

When asked to curtail utilization by means of once a week hand-watering, customers are rewarded with a potential increase in water rates.

This very consideration gives credence to the old adage, "No good deed will ever go unpunished."
