Passenger injured on I-275 after exiting car

A woman in a 1995 Jeep traveling 45 mph on Northbound 275 past Fowler Avenue opened her door and exited the vehicle Friday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mary Reid Tucker, 41, of Lutz, was critically injured after falling upon the roadway's outside shoulder, troopers say. Tucker, who wasn't struck by other vehicles, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Investigators received a call about the incident at 5:33 p.m. and arrived on scene at 6 p.m.
