A Department of Children & Families staffer was found slain Friday in her Riverview home, DCF spokesman Terri Field said.
Alisa Jackson, 40, provided training and technical assistance to staff in the field who processed applications for public assistance.
"She was just one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet," Field said.
The sheriff's office would not confirm whether the body found at Jackson's home was that of Jackson. No cause of death was released.

PALM HARBOR - A 12-year-old boy found shot in the head Friday at his house appears to be the victim of an accidental shooting, authorities say.
Jacob Hunter Larson was listed in critical but stable condition Friday night. His stepfather found him at 435 Laughing Gull Lane, and deputies arrived at 11:22 a.m., Pinellas County sheriff's spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said.
The sheriff's office said the boy appeared to have shot himself in the head with a small-caliber handgun.
