Police: Elderly man kills wife, self in Largo

LARGO - A Pinellas County man fatally shot his wife and himself, deputies say.
Deputies found the bodies of Leo Bartholomew, 84, and Betty Jean Bartholomew, 83, about 6:30 a.m. today after going to 902 Oakwood Drive, in the Harbor Bluffs area, in response to a 911 call.
Deputies say they believe Leo Bartholomew made the 911 call.
"Detectives say both persons had pre-existing medical conditions," a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office news release states. "Preliminarily, the couple died of gunshot wounds. The male victim's wound appears self-inflicted."
An investigation is ongoing.
