An 82-year-old woman suffered a gash in her leg today after being struck by a golf cart in Sun City Center, officials said.
Barbara Elliott also might have a broken ankle, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
She is being treated at Tampa General Hospital after the incident at 4860 Sun City Center Blvd. about 1:08 p.m. today.
Elliott had parked her golf cart outside a Publix supermarket and was walking toward the store when another golf cart, driven by Phyllis Winther, 76, backed over the curb and struck her leg, the sheriff's office said.
Carter said no charges were filed against Winther as the crash occurred on private property.
